Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the Stockton Unified School District. Our district can only be successful with your help in guiding and mentoring all students. All volunteers must be approved by the school site they wish to volunteer at. Once approved, all volunteer fingerprint returns are personally reviewed by the Chief of Police. In reviewing the fingerprint returns, the Chief follows Education Code and several factors to determine applicant eligibility.
These include the following:
- Education Code 44010 Sex Offenses
- Education Code 44011 Substance Abuse Offenses
- Penal Code 1192.7(c) Serious Felonies
- Penal Code 667.5 Violent Crimes
- Any criminal offenses in relation to the job applying for
The Chief of Police does not have the discretion to waive any criminal convictions based on the above listed education and penal codes. Volunteers must seek an expungement of their record to proceed in the volunteer process.
If you wish to discuss a fingerprint return denial, please schedule an appointment with the Chief of Police by contacting the Chief’s Executive Assistant Sophary Touch at Stouch@stocktonusd.net or calling (209) 933-7085 Ext. 2480.
