The Police Athletics League (PAL) of SUSD Department of Public Safety fosters and encourages the development of positive relationships between our youth, officers and community members, and nurtures the creative spirit, challenges the mind and strengthens the body. Each participant is encouraged to develop skills that will allow growth and lead to healthy life choices.
Who We Are
The SUSD Department of Public Safety PAL Program believes that youth engagement will aid in developing students into peer leaders and build their leadership capacity in the community. Strong relationships of mutual trust between police and the communities they serve are critical to maintaining public safety.
Every young person carries the history, the potential and the ability to understand their lived experience, which can inspire learning. Through positive interactions and relationships with police, students can have mentorship, athletic, civic, recreational, enrichment and educational opportunities.

Summer Camp
Summer enrichment and learning experiences are crucial to the academic success and positive development of young people. PAL Summer Day Camps provide positive mentorship and supervision during high-risk summer months.
Police and Community Together (P.A.C.T.)
P.A.C.T. is a community-building campaign that promotes police–community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
To host a P.A.L. event at your site, please contact Sergeant Jesse Smith at JSmith@stocktonusd.net or call (209) 933-7085 Ext. 2462.
In all PAL activities, PAL officers present a life skills curriculum, and all PAL youth are required to maintain a 2.0 grade-point average in school or attend tutoring and make a good-faith effort to raise their GPA.
