Roberto Marquez

Captain

Captain Marquez began his law enforcement career in 1995 with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO). During his tenure with ACSO, he was assigned to the Santa Rita Jail, the Alameda County Narcotics Task Force, the Eden Township Substation Patrol Division, and Oakland International Airport, gaining broad experience across custody, patrol, and specialized assignments.

In 2002, Captain Marquez began his service with the Stockton Unified School District Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer. He has since served in patrol operations, as a School Resource Officer, and as a Field Training Officer before promoting to Sergeant. As a Sergeant, he oversaw Support Services, the Dispatch Center, and Detective operations, demonstrating strong leadership across both operational and administrative functions.

Captain Marquez served as Interim Lieutenant overseeing both Patrol and Support Services and was formally appointed to the rank of Lieutenant in 2024. In 2025, he was promoted to Captain, where he now provides strategic leadership across department operations in support of student safety, community trust, and professional excellence.

Captain Marquez is a member of the California Narcotics Officers Association (CNOA) and remains deeply committed to mentoring and supporting youth who aspire to careers in law enforcement, helping them navigate and achieve goals that others may view as unattainable.
