Sergeant Montanez was born and raised in Delano, California and had the privilege to serve in the United States Navy (U.S.N.). His time and experience serving in the Navy have contributed to his ability to serve the SUSD community and lead our police officers to ensure our students have a safe learning environment. He started his career in law enforcement with Midland PD in Texas and transitioned to the Lodi Police Department. He joined the Stockton Unified School District Police Department in 2022 and served as the Weston Ranch SRO and an Explorer Advisor before promoting to the sergeant position.
